Manitowoc is adding a third mobile self-erecting crane to its range. The Hup M 28-22 is due to be launched in early 2020.
“This is the latest crane in the Hup family which is extremely compact, mobile and versatile,” said Jean-Pierre Zaffiro, global product director for Potain self-erecting cranes at Manitowoc. “It is the most compact in this category.”
The model is only 11.5m long when folded. Its diminutive size means that it can work in narrow, restricted job sites, and also simplifies transportation between sites.
The Hup M 28-22 has a 28m jib and 16 possible configurations so that it can be used in a wide range of applications. The crane has a maximum capacity of 2.2tonnes and can lift 850kg at the end of its 28m jib.
“It has a double steering axle with EBS braking, pneumatic suspension, 20 degree steering and dedicated battery power,” said Zaffiro, “which means it has the best mobility in its category as well.”
