Cohu unveils Helios 3930HD camera system
Cohu has unveiled the Helios 3930HD Series High Definition Camera System at the show in Houston. The 3930HD was introduced as a lower cost fixed position outdoor camera for monitoring applications such as intersections or tunnels. Utilising a h.264 encoding scheme housed in a rugged sealed and pressurised IP67 enclosure, this model easily adapts to many different surveillance needs.
The single-piece unit allows the user to position the camera, and use a laptop to precisely adjust the field of view and camera parameters to the desired scene. The camera is designed to be accessible from any web browser.
The 3930HD incorporates an integral 18x optical zoom lens, solving the traditional limitations of fixed position megapixel cameras by allowing users to optically zoom as an alternative to a digital-only zoom.
“Many traffic management centres can already support high definition,” says Curtis Duplack, sales director, ITS systems sales, Cohu. “HD is going to be the industry standard in two years, and Cohu is on the leading edge.”
