Back to listingITS America’s Belcher lauds plenary sessions
The quality of the plenary sessions and the presence of so many high-calibre attendees have combined to make sure this year’s ITS America Annual Meeting has been the single-most important and significant transportation event of 2010.
So says ITS America president and CEO Scott F. Belcher, who makes particular reference to the closing plenary, taking place today from 10am-12pm and which features US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Sam Palmisano, chairman and CEO of IBM, as keynote speakers, and the following surface transportation reauthorisation meeting taking place from 12.30pm-4pm.
“The follow-on meeting is one of a series which has taken place around the country. They are designed to bring together federal, state and local officials, as well as transportation providers, users and other stakeholders, to discuss reauthorisation.
“A 60-minute town hall session will be followed by panel sessions looking at performance management and issues for reauthorisation. As such, it’s not just an event for ITS but for the whole of transportation.”
