The US state of Michigan is using ITS World Congress to introduce delegates to its PlanetM partnership of mobility organisations and communities working together on the research, development and deployment of mobility technologies driving the future.

Michigan, which promotes itself as being where big ideas in mobility are born, is encouraging delegates to come and learn why businesses across the world are choosing the state, and how PlanetM can actively help them.

Organised by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), PlanetM represents community, education, industry, research and government agencies aligning to deliver tomorrow’s transportation technology economy.

Available to any mobility-focused company or investor, PlanetM offers a concierge service that connects them to Michigan’s automotive ecosystem: the people, resources and places dedicated to the evolution of transportation mobility, from start-ups to OEMs.

On Wednesday, MEDC, along with the UK Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles and Zenzic, hosted the Future Mobility International Group 3.0.

This event brought global leaders from industry, government and academia to collaborate on policy, regulations and standards for the development, testing and deployment of intelligent vehicle and transportation technologies.

The special session was a continuation of similar events hosted by the MEDC at the previous two ITS World Congress Meetings, connecting some of the brightest minds in mobility.
