Today, Eberle Design (EDI) acknowledged McCain, a Swarco Group Company, on its achievement of providing more than 1,000 ATC Cabinets to the industry, making them safer, smarter and more efficient.

The Institute of Traffic Engineers (ITE) along with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) recently released the ATC Standard 5301 V02.02, making the Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) Cabinet a national standard. Numerous Departments of Transportation are already embracing the advantages of the ATC cabinet and replacing their infrastructure to make their cities, counties and states safer for motorists and technicians, preparing to be smart-city and connected and autonomous vehicle-ready.

“The recent release of the ATC Standard and many cities and counties making the switch to ATC Cabinets confirms that ageing cabinets are in need for an upgrade to prepare for what’s to come,” said Dr Bill Sowell, interim president at EDI. “The industry is advancing at a pace we have not seen before, and we are thrilled to be able to assist alongside our long-time partner, McCain.”

Accepting the award, Nathan Welch, McCain’s director of sales, accepted the award and had this to say: “We thank our very own Reza Roozitalab, VP of hardware engineering, Scott Evans, former EDI VP of engineering, and all members of the ATC Standards Committee for their hard work. We have well over 1,000 ATC cabinets deployed and are excited to watch our Google Map of deployments grow, as the industry embraces the value of the technology.”
