Waycare is developing artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solutions enabling transportation and public safety agencies to harness internal and in-vehicle data for real-time, predictive incident management and traffic optimisation.

The system collects and synthesises into a single platform not only municipal data such as sensors, CCTV cameras, traffic signal information, but also diverse sets of in-vehicle data such as telematics, crowd-sourced navigation, and connected vehicle insights. Leveraging applied machine learning and predictive analytics, the system transforms this information into real-time decision-making tools and forward-looking insights, enabling improved incident mitigation, dynamic real-time traffic flow optimisation and direct communication with the public.

A cloud-based solution, Waycare’s platform is interoperable across agencies throughout a region on any data-enabled device.

The platform was successfully deployed in the Las Vegas region, and the system was able to demonstrate the use of AI and in-vehicle data for traffic management, incident management, crash prediction, and prevention. Notable results include on average 12-minute faster response time to incidents, 17% fewer crashes on monitored roads through proactive policing, 180% increase in incidents identified, and a 300% increase of messages to the public.
