A new generation of Smartmicro radar sensors

ADV smartmicro2At this year’s ITS World Congress, Smart Micro Sensors (Smartmicro) will present its newly-developed generation of radar sensors for truly smart cities.

The latest sensor model TRUGRD is a multifunctional sensor that comes with 4D/UHD resolution. The company says this sensor is a perfect fit for intersection management because, like all of Smartmicro’s advanced technology radars, it combines stop bar and advance detection in one single unit. The even higher resolution makes the radar’s performance unrivalled.

Smartmicro says there is more to it than that: the multifunctional radar sensor can also be used for counting and classification, for example on highways. Here, the forward-firing technology makes sure that each object is detected, tracked and classified accordingly.

Also for OEM integrated enforcement systems, Smartmicro says its technology is one of the best in the market as it can detect up to 256 objects on up to 10 lanes simultaneously – no matter if approaching or receding.
