Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) will be on the ITS Australia Pavilion at the ITS World Congress with innovations including its artificial intelligence-enabled Virtual Ticket Agent; the Cubic Transport Management Platform; in-vehicle messaging for connected cars; Trafficware’s ATMS central traffic management system; and Synchro traffic analysis software.

More widely, Cubic will highlight at the event how its NextCity vision is another step closer to reality following the strategic acquisitions of Trafficware and Gridsmart, which will have its own stand at the event. The combination of Cubic’s expertise in public transit, road user charging and transport management, married with new advanced detection and intersection management capabilities, gives Cubic an unprecedented insight into what is happening across a city’s transport network and how to optimise it to reduce congestion and protect vulnerable road users.

“Bringing these i solutions together under our Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business will make our NextCity Operations and Analytics pillar a reality and a cornerstone of all smart city capabilities,” said Chris Bax, VP of ITS Global Strategy at CTS.

Although Cubic’s legacy has traditionally been in larger metropolitan cities, the company also has an ever-expanding footprint in surface transport management: recently Cubic won a contract to deploy its Transport Management Platform (TMP) as part of the New South Wales Intelligent Congestion Management Programme.
