DynaRoads offers smart contraflow solutions

DynaRoads’s smart contra-flow management system has been designed to be fully automated, secure and efficient – all essential for safe and smooth site operations.

Meeting the demands of increasing worldwide traffic requires constant expansion and renewal of roads and highways.

However, as the German-based DynaRoads points out, often a combination of unavailable road width and high traffic volumes can prolong the disruption of a highway expansion project significantly.

For example, closing existing lanes leads to higher traffic volumes on the remaining roads, which in turn results in more traffic jams during rush hour.

Contraflow traffic management solves these problems by temporarily assigning a shared lane to the higher frequented direction of travel, significantly enhancing the flow rate of vehicles.

DynaRoads’ system includes centralised sequence control, dynamic traffic signals with LED technology, safety-monitoring of the shared lane and fully automatic opening of the barriers – all without requiring personnel deployment.
