Siemens Mobility is using an augmented-reality application to give delegates an interesting, hands-on experience that shows the company’s products across different applications.

As Siemens points out, every city has a multitude of different traffic-relevant systems that work largely independently of each other. Each of these systems gathers valuable data, with potential to contribute to a holistic understanding of the traffic situation.

Efficient traffic measures need to make active use of all available information, from individual counting loops to planning data on big events, like a major football game, a four-day rock festival, road works or critical weather conditions. These special events often overtax roads, so traffic planners need to be able to offer alternatives to individual car use. Siemens augmented-reality application offers a novel way to provide a glimpse into these factors and how they can be addressed by the company’s solutions.

For delegates who wish to take a deep dive into its solutions, Siemens Mobility has experts at its booth who will demonstrate how the open interface of Siemens traffic control centres can function as a central data hub to ensure no valuable information is overlooked or disregarded. The result is that foreseeable situations can be well prepared for in advance to limit the expected negative impact.

Unforeseen incidents can be responded to quickly and in a coordinated manner.

Powerful tools can regulate the interaction between the control centre and connected traffic systems and synchronise the different measures.

In addition, road users are given information via connected channels such as internet, radio or dynamic message signs.
