6 Kapsch p.14Kapsch TrafficCom will use the ITS World Congress Singapore to showcase the latest integrated mobility solutions in realistic scenarios and present its vision for the future of ITS in the Asia-Pacific region.

As the company points out, additional capacity is not enough to create sustainable urban mobility. Smart solutions and multimodal integration are also crucial.

While Asia-Pacific region countries are in the vanguard of the global urbanisation trend, sustainable urban mobility is not only about the technology. These will not just reside in megacities, of which the developing world has a preponderance; many will live in ‘middleweight’ urban centres of the 200,000 to two million population size range.

There is an increasing number of suppliers of platforms intended to support integrated mobility management. However, Kapsch says its strength is the expertise and the maturity of its offerings in terms of highway and urban mobility management capabilities, tolling, V2X, MaaS and a multi-modal back office. The company will demonstrate how it brings its extensive experience and work with cities and governments to solidify thinking and realise approaches.

As decision support for responses to incidents and events benefits significantly from multi-agency coordination, Kapsch will also highlight how the company helps operators further optimise their networks by gathering all traffic data into one multimodal approach.
