ITS World Congress 2019 visitors grappling with the challenges in digitally transforming their transport networks could find a visit to the Sopra Steria booth very useful. The company’s Urban Intelligent Transport Solution is able to bring together 26 individual systems to provide a greater overview and integrate traffic management over a wide area.

Both planned and unplanned events can be handled and real-time information produced to meet management purposes and provide traveller information.

COO of Sopra Steria Asia Grace Xu says the system can work with any open-protocol controller as well as many proprietary systems, with a predictive function to be added shortly.

Singapore is using the first generation of the system, while a second-generation version is already controlling traffic in areas such as the new Hong Kong Bridge, and being evaluated by other cities.

Another facet of digitisation the company addresses is cyber security through its Sicarius system.

A passive system, it alerts the network operator (via a dashboard) of any anomalies in the operation of devices and communication networks which could indicate a security breach.
