Syntonys shines a light on safety

France-based Syntony GNSS’s booth at ITS World Congress 2019 is highlighting its SubWave product, which enables localisation of any equipment fitted with a standard GPS chipset by expanding coverage to underground areas.

By emitting what Syntony says is a perfect emulation of the “real” GPS signal, SubWave can benefit subway operators and the public in all underground places equipped with the system, including stations and tunnels. It allows clients to keep track of their assets in such confined areas, with the same apps they use outside, so long as they rely on a GPS signal.

The system provides substantial operational and safety benefits, including helping people to find their way underground.

Syntony has also developed technology and expertise in GNSS signals and location systems, in partnership with leading aerospace companies. The company claims to have become a game-changer in the radio navigation industry through a unique combination of very sophisticated and high-grade RF front-end elements with digital processing implementation, allowing rapid changes and improvements to functionality of devices, while reducing cost and effort.
