VanJee is using ITS World Congress 2019 to show off its pre-eminent terminal traffic product and platform offerings, including weigh-in-motion, lidar, electronic toll collection and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) to protect road assets, guarantee traffic safety, and improve traffic efficiency.

Products on its booth include a Smart Base Station (SBS) which integrates 3D-lidar, camera, V2X RSU, and multi-access edge computing (MEC).

The SBS is an advanced system that helps authorities to get vital traffic information through real-time scanning and computing. The station collects and processes real-time traffic information, including from all passing vehicles, cell-phones and cloud database.

Its 3D-lidar capability allows it to scan the road completely to collect point cloud data, including vehicles and pedestrians, then collect real-time traffic information to monitor vehicle driving behaviour and identify potential traffic risks, especially in blind spot scenarios.

The V2X capability can then be used to deliver safety warnings to all passing vehicles.

VanJee says the SBS can make a significant contribution to autonomous driving, as well as improving traffic safety significantly.

Also at World Congress, VanJee is demonstrating its big data platform to connect local weighing stations, SBS stations, cameras and lidars to achieve a big data traffic service.

This platform collects essential data for traffic management, logistics services, and road maintenance planning, and can receive and process real-time traffic information by V2X.

It can also automatically generate a blacklist for vehicles which have too many violation records, resulting in improvements in road user behaviour and safety.
