Doka has a new system allowing users to take virtual reality tours into and around the company’s formwork solutions and projects, thanks to the Doka AR-VR app.

A 3D view of the models and QR code readers round off the app’s functionality. Some 3D models even let viewers show and hide certain components and watch animations of the set-up procedures.

This networking and automation of the “real construction site” will continue to increase. For Doka, this means that with VDC/BIM – Virtual Design and Construction/Building Information Modelling – formwork solutions can be matched even more closely to the planning and construction process. Customers enjoy benefits, including access to up-to-date information on the construction project at any time and run simulations to check construction progress, cost and safety.

Meanwhile, Doka is highlighting projects by the Umdasch Group, an organisation created by Doka, Umdasch Group Ventures and The Store Makers.

Doka’s sister company Umdasch Group Ventures deals with future trends and new technologies in the construction field and focuses exclusively on the development of ground-breaking potentially disruptive innovations.

Umdasch Group’s innovation hub will present three new solutions: Contour Crafting (3D printing in construction), Neulandt (mobile pre-casting plant primarily for affordable housing) and Contakt (jobsite digitisation).

The software and consulting service Contakt incorporates specially developed sensor technology and delivers information straight from the construction site to engineers. There is a mobile app for planning, organising and controlling the on-site work, material and human resources. Building contractors and project owners benefit from more transparency and can optimise their workflows and competitiveness based on data from the field.
