Goldhofer Ventum five-fold extensible trailer deck for turbine blades
First published at bauma - April 9, 2019
Goldhofer has a new Ventum telescopic trailer deck that can extend five-fold for transporting very long wind turbine rotor blades. The deck can extend up to 72m, including its gooseneck, which can be lifted and lowered to ease negotiation of narrow passages. The deck features the company’s pendular axle technology and has the option to add a rail-mounted Bladex blade tip lift to help negotiate tall obstacles en route. An adjustable steering system means that no second man is required for empty running of the deck to and from job sites. Goldhofer claims the Ventum is the first five-fold extensible semi-trailer on the market and is particularly useful in regions where regulations limit the length of overhang of a transported blade.
