BOMAG is introducing a new power solutions for its compact BW 120 tandem roller. The 1.2m wide drum class BW 120 light tandem roller is offered with a 30kW engine fuelled by standard 11kg propane gas bottles. Conventional models with diesel engines are also available.

For the gas version, each bottle is sufficient for five hours of operating time, which is usually enough for a whole working day given the way these smaller compactors are used onsite. A user can change the gas bottle in just 10 minutes.

The low emissions performance using this fuel suits the machine to use in urban areas or for work in applications where ventilation may be restricted. The Deutz engine meets the Stage V requirements and has a particulate filter to further reduce emissions, with no need for more complex aftertreatment systems.

The firm is also offering a standard version of the BW 120 that meets Stage V emissions requirements with power from a conventional Kubota diesel engine, delivering 24.3kW. And a lower rated version of the BW 120 with an 18.5kW diesel is also available, which has lower running costs.
