Bonfiglioli’s 701TE and 701CE electric slew and track drive for mini excavators at bauma 2019

Italian drive specialist Bonfiglioli is launching the 701TE and the 701CE, electric slew and track drives for mini-excavators between 2 and 3 tonnes.
Using electric drives rather than hydraulic ones reduces noise and carbon emissions. It also significantly increases the efficiency of the machine and so lengthens the necessary maintenance intervals and cuts the total cost of ownership, said Bonfiglioli.
One of the challenges for Bonfiglioli’s engineers was to make the drives as small as possible. “We tried to make use of all the space available, so that they can be installed in the same space as a hydraulic solution which is extremely compact,” said Bonfiglioli’s chief technical officer Andrea Torcelli.
This was achieved thanks to the design of the stator, with concentrated winding and IPM (internal permanent magnet) technology.
