CIFA is expanding its Energya range with the launch of a plug-in hybrid truck mixer pump which it says offers less fuel consumption and noise.

The Magnum MK28E features a 7 m³ drum and a 28 m boom and can be activated when the truck’s diesel engine is switched off. Users can activate the pump by connecting the electric engine to the lithium-ion battery, both during the operations of loading in the plant and in the phase of unloading and pumping on the construction site. The truck engine can be used to recharge the electric battery.

The battery can also be charged from the power supply using a battery charger mounted on the machine, through the external charging column or via a KERS (kinetic energy recovery) system.

MK28E features electrically managed functionalities in four phases which include drum rotation, stabilisation, opening/closing the boom and pumping.

The last two sections of the boom are characterised by carbon fibre to offer a lower weight which allows lower consumption for the road transport phase.
