Comer Industries is launching new ranges of final and slew drives. The PGR 800 series has been designed for excavators in the 18-to-23 tonne range and the PG2300 series slew drives are for 20 tonne machines.
The PGR 800 series comprises two planetary drives which come with a wide range of ratios. Having teamed up with a Japanese hydraulics manufacturer, Comer can now supply the drives with a 140cc two-speed axial piston motor.
“The key market demand is for a reliable supplier of a package solution,” said Daniele Gilioli, product line manager for planetary drives. Similarly, the PG2300 series slew drives can be coupled with a 160cc plug-in slew motor from the firm’s Japanese partner as a package or can be supplied as the gearbox only.
Having traditionally been focussed on the agricultural sector, construction is now a growing market for Comer Industries, said its strategic marketing director Paolo Negri. “We started five years ago to invest heavily into redesigning everything for construction. It has been a good boost for us.”
The company has enjoyed double-digit growth for the past two years and this year has been listed on the Italian stock exchange.
