Comer Industries is promising increased efficiency and enhanced power density in a more compact size with its new range of axles. The FC08 ‘compact’ range has been designed to meet the requirements of earthmoving equipment – as well as agricultural machines, Comer’s traditional market sector.
According to Davide Gasparini, Comer’s business development manager for power trains, the axles are 15% lighted than similar ones. Wheeled loaders would be an ideal application for the axles, said Gasparini, but they could be used with other machines too.
The axle will come in two versions, the FC08 and the FC09-HD for heavier machines. The FC08 is suitable for wheeled loaders with an empty vehicle weight of up to 5.4 tonnes, has a dynamic load of 5.3 tonnes and delivers a torque to the wheels of 1,800daNm. The FC08-HD supplies a maximum torque of 2,000daNm.
Alongside the axles is Comer’s is developing a new transmission range for electric vehicles, the I-S428 range, designed to combine with the F08 axles. The I-S428 will be available in a single drop and double drop version, with an input speed of up to 9,000 rpm and a maximum power of 25kW.
