Goldhofer Addrive transporter operates as self-propelled or towed
First published at bauma - April 9, 2019
Addrive 2.0 is Goldhofer’s new version of its modular transporter that can operate in self-propelled or towed modes. The switchable drive enables the drive unit to be disconnected when maximum speed is reached for continued travel as a normal heavy duty module.
The disconnection separates the motor from the wheel and so prevents the drive from overheating. To handle gradients, the Addrive is activated to obtain full tractive power from the system, which can avoid the need for an additional towing tractor or pusher.
GGoldhofer has almost doubled the power of the Addrive to 530 hp with Version 2.0. Additional drive axles increase the tractive power, which can be key to precision manoeuvring with exceptional loads for setdown and pickup. Addrive incorporates what Goldhofer claims is the world’s first electronic braking system in a vehicle of this type.
