Mecalac adds a new AS model to its swing loader range at bauma 2019

Mecalac is expanding its range of swing loaders with the new AS model. With a 500-litre capacity bucket and an auxiliary hydraulic line as standard, the Mecalac AS 500 is powered by a Deutz Stage V engine.
Designed for ease of use, the cab is accessible from both sides with two large retractable exterior mirrors and a panoramic roof to maximise the driver’s view of the working environment. The driver’s seat meets the latest standards in ergonomics and comfort. Adjustable heating and air conditioning system further optimise driver comfort.
According to Mecalac, swing loaders help improve productivity by avoiding unnecessary movements, saving time in all manoeuvres. Thanks to its arm, the swing loader pivots instead of having to re-position, saving time and generating less noise. “Its ability to simultaneously drive, manoeuvre and pivot is key to the high productivity of the Mecalac Swing on site,” said the manufacturer.
This ability means that swing loaders can also operate in a smaller footprint. A conventional loader needs 10 square metres of footprint to load a truck whereas a swing one only needs five square metres.
Designed around a one-piece frame with three steering modes as standard: two-wheel steering, four-wheel steering and crab; the swing loader is totally stable, said the manufacturer. Whatever is lifted by the bucket at the front can be turned through 180° without any loss of steadiness, once the rear axle is locked.
