Meritor Planetary Axles for forklifts include an electric version
First published at bauma - April 10, 2019
Meritor is launching a line of material handling axles for forklifts from 4.5tonne (5 US ton) to over 32tonne (36 US ton) capacity. The line, called Planetary Axles, includes an electrified axle to cater for the increasing demand for electric powered vehicles.
The new axles are based on the proven architecture and performance of Meritor’s MOR series of axles. The electrified axle offers an emissions-free, fully battery-electric propulsion option and is marketed under the company’s Blue Horizon advanced technology brand. The axles are designed to operate ‘plug and play’ with Meritor’s portfolio of other parts for off-highway equipment that includes brakes and wheel ends.
