Parker Spreadmaster-3Parker Plant’s upgraded chippings spreader offer improved performance

Parker Plant is upgrading its SpreadMaster chippings spreader, powered by a new low emissions Tier 4 Final/Stage IV diesel engine. The power plant delivers 194kW and meets the emissions requirements for use in developed markets.

The machine is designed for use in surface dressing works and a key feature is its variable-width twin section front aggregate hopper. It has a series of cut off gates, with the machine capable of spread widths of 300mm to 4.4m, enabling chippings to be spread accurately and without overlaps.

The chippings feed conveyors operate automatically to maintain levels in the front spreading hoppers and there is also an optional manual override function. The large capacity rear hopper features hydraulic folding wings and a tow hitch to capture and tow chipping feed trucks.

Simple controls are designed to minimise the time needed for operator training. The operator can view parameters on the display unit and reset parameters as required using the joystick control.

The joystick controls the raising and lowering of the feed hopper as well as the spreading function, spreading hopper extension and retraction and tow hitch operation. The road speed and spreading speed are matched automatically.

The machine is said to offer a high travel speed between sites to reduce down time, with hydrostatic drive to all four wheels to ensure good traction on poor ground.
