soilmec_piler2Soilmec claims versatility for its SC-135 Tiger rig

Soilmec claims that its new SC-135 Tiger hydromill rig benefits from a combination of tried and tested technology and advanced systems.

The SC-135 Tiger can be used in a wide range of working radius and module rotations and features several improvements, especially in terms of safety and oil contamination. This machine is said to benefit from customer input from job site experts who use the hydromill daily to improve control, performance and reliability. One feature includes a patented hydraulic system for cutting. Meanwhile the base machines have the filters installed directly on the main lines to avoid any possible breakdown due to bentonite contamination.

The hydraulic slewing allows +/-90° module rotation, with power from a new generation Caterpillar C27 diesel. The special winders are said to be suitable for job sites up to 150m in depth and are said to deliver high performance in a wide array of challenging operating conditions. The high depth vertical sensor, independent mobile flaps, onboard DMS system and 3D graphic print out panel options help to ensure high accuracy control of verticality.

The SC-135 Tiger is also designed for safety, with anti-slip surfaces on walkways and ladders and extra guard rails. Other features include remote control boards and a reduced speed mode for assembly and disassembly. The modular machine is also said to be mobile and has a maximum transportation weight of 45tonnes.
