SSAB offer high-strength structural steel for lifting applications
First published in bauma Preview - April 4, 2019
SSAB is presenting a high-strength structural steel with weld properties which it says is suitable for making lifting equipment stronger, reach higher and take heavier loads.
Strenx 1100 Plus can be used for lifting applications and other advanced structures which benefit from matching strength in the welds.
The steel’s design can be based on the same minimum static strength in the entire application, depending on applicable design rules.
Strenx 1100 Plus, a hot rolled, quenched and tempered strip steel with weld properties in line with the base material, comes with a 3 mm/m flatness guarantee.
In addition, the chemistry is optimised to help achieve matching strength properties over the weld when slightly under matching consumables are used.
