Walterscheid double universal joint offers more torque for same size
First published at bauma - April 11, 2019
Walterscheid’s new B3310 double universal joint (DUJ) allows the transmission of up to 20% more torque without increasing space requirements compared with the company’s previous B3000 DUJs. The increased torque for the same space allows for smaller, lighter axles to achieve the same performance. Reducing structural weight has the benefit of making vehicles more responsive to operator inputs for acceleration and deceleration, as well as potentially reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Walterscheid increased performance of the B3310 by optimising component geometry and materials. Further products in the series are under development, said the company.
