Yanmar adds ViO82 and the ViO80-2PB midi excavators to its range

Yanmar is adding two excavators to its midi-excavator range: the ViO82 and the ViO80-2PB. The ViO82 has the ViPPS2 hydraulic system, which enables smoother operation and engine optimisation, according to the manufacturer. The ViO80-2PB has a variable length boom to improve the manoeuvrability and the ability to place loads with precision.
Both the ViO82 and the ViO80-2PB are equipped with a Yanmar 4TNV98C-WBV1 engine and boast several devices to limit fuel consumption. An electronic control unit manages the speed according to torque to optimise the engine load and save fuel.
Fuel consumption is further reduced by the automatic deceleration system, which allows the engine to idle if the operator does not touch the operating levers for 4 seconds. There is also the Eco mode, which effectively controls engine speed, especially when a work cycle requires little power and low travel speed.
The new models are part of a new strategic approach from the firm. “We now have 30 different models. Yanmar is going through a radical change,” said Andreas Hactergal, sales and marketing director for Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe. “In the past we were specialised in mini-excavators. Now we want to be a leader in compact equipment.”
