A new high performance concrete screed from GOMACO

GOMACO is now introducing a high-production, truss-mounted screed, for the paving of bridge decks, flat slabs, and concrete floors. The new GOMACO screed can advance up to 1.22m in a single pass and the firm claims that this will reduce finishing time, allowing savings in concrete delivery costs and total project labour.
The leading auger is 1.74m long and provides high-production strike-off action and reduces the number of puddlers needed. The 1.52m long finishing cylinder is located immediately behind the auger and is said to compact and finish the concrete in a single pass. The 1.83m trailing screed provides the final finish to the surface, utilising a novel GOMACO-designed vibratory system.
The high-production screed features a patent-pending design for tilt and skew and is mounted to the GOMACO C-450 truss system. The new mount allows customers the option of using a 3D package to finish to a 3D design model. The new GOMACO screed system allows contractors to finish city streets, concrete floors, bridge decks, tunnels and canals at widths up to 31.7m.
