Carmix delivers a new concrete supply service for the US

Italian concrete machine specialist Carmix Metalgalante is offering a new onsite service that breaks new ground in the US market.

Manuela Metalgalante, marketing director at the firm explained that the company had just launched the service in Florida providing concrete directly onsite. “Our concept is not to sell a machine but to provide concrete and a service,” said Metalgalante.

The company’s proven 3500TC machine is highly versatile and mobile and the firm claims it can be used to deliver high quality material onsite.

The company began operations in January and already has two key clients, said Francesco Perfetti, managing director of the firm’s US operation. The firm’s approach varies from the conventional method of producing concrete in batch plants and then delivering it to site. “Our concept is different,” said Perfetti. “We work wherever you want and our machine needs just one operator. In the US they don’t have the same concept,” he said.

The firm chose Florida to launch its US operation as the state offers a big market for concrete in construction. Texas and California are also healthy markets for concrete, although Perfetti said he believed that states such as Oregon or Wisconsin may offer more opportunities for Carmix with its approach because distances between batch plants are larger. Greater distances drive up the cost of supplying concrete in this way, making an onsite solution more competitive.
