GOMACO has introduced a 2-in-1 machine that is capable of both slip-form paving and placing/spreading.

The company bills the GP360 as the first machine with these dual capabilities. “Not all projects need a placer-spreader but when you need one, you’ve got it,” a company spokesman said. “Switching between the two is very simple.”

As a slip-form paver, the GP360 is capable of working up to 10.97m wide. Add a 1524 mm belt and it becomes a concrete placer/spreader for widths up to 19.97m.

The machine utilises the technology of the GOMACO GP3 slip-form paver. The prime mover is equipped with vibrator circuits for paving and auger drive circuits for placing. The control system handles the conversion between the two applications.

A 225 kW Caterpillar C7.1 Tier 4 diesel engine drives the conveyor belt and distributes concrete across the grade. The high-volume, 1524 mm conveyor belt can be mounted on either the left or right side, depending on jobsite conditions and the location of the haul road.

The GP360 has a discharge speed of up to 150mpm for fast and efficient concrete placement. A controllable material deflector directs the flow of concrete at the discharge end of the conveyor for placement accuracy. With the concrete placed on grade, a dual-drive auger system moves the material to the centre or outer areas and across the strike-off.
