JLG 670SJ self-leveling boom can be driven at full height

JLG’s new 670SJ boom has two key features sure to please contractors: It is self-leveling and can be driven at full height.
“We believe the 670SJ self-leveling boom is a step change for the industry – a technology that will transform the way people work at height, while offering significant productivity and safety benefits,” said Milan Klimes, senior chief engineer for JLG.
The 670SJ, introduced at the show on Wednesday, is a 20.4m platform height boom lift with a 250kg unrestricted and 340kg restricted capacity.
It offers 45% gradeability, a 17.4m horizontal reach and elevates to full height or back to ground level from full height in 101 seconds. It automatically levels on grades up to 10° when in self-leveling mode.
The 670SJ is the first JLG boom lift available with self-leveling technology. This new technology will be phased into production across a wide-range of models and will evolve to meet international compliance standards in the future, the company said.
The boom provides a safer and more productive solution to a number of common customer requirements on slopes up to 10°, the company said. Benefits include being able to traverse uneven ground with full functionality while driving at height; drastic reductions or elimination of manual labor required to set up cribbing or grading; and decreased platform movement during travel.
The 670SJ will be available for shipment to North America-based customers in the autumn of 2020.
