Superior completes cone crusher range with new 350kW model

The new P500 Patriot Cone Crusher

Superior Industries has added a new model to its line of Patriot Cone Crushers with the introduction of the 500 horsepower P500 model.

The cone crusher is one of a dozen new products the company is introducing.

The P500 is engineered to operate most effectively at 350 kW. Other specifications unique to the P500 include a head diameter of 1,500mm, maximum feed opening of 343mm and closed side settings from 10mm-50mm.

Other notable features of the P500 model cone include inverted or reverse design of tramp relief cylinders that is designed to ensure the hydraulic seals are not exposed to contamination during operation.

It also features a tramp relief system designed with fewer accumulators for less maintenance, and an automatic pressure relief valve means additional protection.

The universal crushing chamber design requires no major, time-consuming change-outs when transitioning from secondary to tertiary applications.

If loss of clamping pressure occurs, counter-clockwise countershaft rotation causes the crusher to open rather than turn down, thus avoiding significant damage.

US-based Superior now manufactures a full line of Patriot Cone Crushers in 150kW, 220kW, 300kW, 370kW and 450kW horsepower models.

Superior Industries VP of sales John Garrison said that 25% of the company’s business is outside the US. “Typically we have been involved in the past with conveyors for shipping,” said Garrison. “We have dealers in New Zealand, Australia, Mexico and central America. There is still a bit more work for us to do in Europe and some of our products have to be adapted for that market.”
